Sustainable Palm Oil Choice welcomes new participants
During the first half of 2020, several new participants joined the SPOC initiative.
Edsential is a Community Interest Company that supplies 5.5 million school meals per year in northwest England and is committed to using only certified sustainable palm oil throughout its supply chain. It is the world’s first school caterer to become RSPO certified.
Satelligence is a geodata analytics company that has expertise in the scalable processing of radar and optical satellite images to assess patterns and trends relating to forests, agriculture, and water sources. The company is currently setting up a new system for tracking deforestation that will also indicate where sustainable palm oil can be sourced in supply chains and where action to achieve sustainability is required.
The Bristol Zoological Society is committed to protecting wildlife. Its educational programme includes developing the local Supporting Sustainable Palm Oil campaign, which encourages the public to purchase products containing sustainable palm oil and to email UK supermarkets asking them to support the mandatory labelling of sustainable palm oil.
